Welcome to the Spring 2024 Semester

Dear CUNY SPS Community,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Spring 2024 Semester at the CUNY School of Professional Studies.

Just a few weeks ago we celebrated the 20th anniversary of CUNY SPS, which was founded back in 2003 to provide working adults with a flexible, affordable way to complete their college education and earn advanced degrees online. In those remarkable first two decades, CUNY SPS has launched 26 undergraduate and graduate degrees and 13 certificate programs in addition to scores of non-credit training programs and has been continually recognized by U.S. News & World Report and other outlets as a nationwide leader in online education.

This spring, as we enter our 21st year—and I begin my second semester as the dean of CUNY SPS—I am eager to build upon our auspicious beginnings to take our School to even greater heights. To that end, I am excited to work with our community to brainstorm how we may continue to build upon the School’s legacy of innovation, grow programs, and customize our academic offerings to fit our current and future students’ needs, and to adapt creatively to a rapidly changing world and workplace.

In this spirit of growth, I invite all our new and returning students to make this semester a great one by trying something new, whether it be taking an interesting elective, learning a new skill, or joining one of our many student clubs. I also encourage you all to make use of our School’s many services and resources—including the support our devoted faculty and staff offer—to help you to succeed and thrive.
