Dear CUNY SPS Community,

Welcome to spring 2025 at the CUNY School of Professional Studies!

I would like to extend a warm greeting to our faculty, staff, and students this semester. I trust that you enjoyed the holiday season and are looking forward to starting a new year together.

This spring promises to be an exciting one for CUNY SPS, as we celebrate—and expand upon—our top-rated programs and non-degree offerings, and mark yet another semester of high enrollment and growth.

As the semester kicks off, I am delighted to announce we are beginning on an auspicious note: CUNY SPS was named #6 in the nation on U.S. News & World Report’s list of 2025 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. Not only is this our highest-ever ranking, we also now surpass many other schools, including Arizona State, Colorado State, and the University of Central Florida, three highly-regarded R1 institutions with nationally known online programs. Additionally, we were ranked highly for our BA in Psychology (#9) and MS in Nursing programs (#25), as well as for our undergraduate veterans’ offerings (#2). These outstanding accomplishments reflect the impressive dedication, talent, and innovation of our programs and our entire community. Together, we are proving that CUNY SPS continues to set the standard for academic excellence, accessibility, and impact.

In a second highlight, our enrollment teams have yet again exceeded past performance with an 8% enrollment increase currently over spring 2024. Huge praise goes to everyone on all the teams associated with this incredibly successful effort that will result in hundreds of new students becoming part of the CUNY SPS community.

For both our new and returning students, again welcome! This semester, I encourage you all to stay curious, ask questions, and take full advantage of the opportunities available to you at CUNY SPS, whether it’s our many academic resources, student clubs, and events, or the support offered through offices like academic advisement and career services. I also invite you all to reach out to our dedicated and caring faculty and staff, who are here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Finally, thank you for choosing CUNY SPS as your partner in education and for being part of what makes the School so exceptional. I look forward to seeing the ways that you will grow, innovate, and succeed over the coming months.

Here’s to a productive and fulfilling spring 2025!
