Sheridan Povemba has been an adjunct lecturer in both the Child Develpment Associate (CDA) Certificate Program and the Children' Program Administrator Credential (CPAC) at CUNY School of Professional Studies since 2015. In addition to her role as an adjunct lecturer, Sheridan also provides student advisement and support to CDA and CPAC candidates after they finish their coursework and navigate the national and state credentialing processes.
Sheridan has spent the last three decades in the field of Early Childhood Education, starting as an assistant teacher, working through the years as a lead teacher, assistant director, and director of early childhood programs. Over that time, Sheridan saw the impact of sharing her knowledge and experiences with her colleagues and staff and gradually transitioned into higher education and providing professional development. Outside of CUNY SPS Sheridan is the one of the Coordinators of the New York State Pyramid Model for Social Emotional Competence and part of the Professional Development team at the NY Association of the Education of Young Children
