The CUNY School of Professional Studies offers graduate degree programs that provide the opportunity for online and on campus study in a variety of disciplines. While we cannot issue an F-1 Visa for a fully online degree program, our online offerings provide a chance for international students to earn an affordable degree while residing in their home country. International applicants who are interested in an on campus program should review the process to apply for an F-1 Visa.
In addition to the admission criteria that is listed for each graduate degree program, applicants who were educated outside of the United States must submit the following documents:
- An official transcript in the original language from each postsecondary school/university attended in a sealed envelope, and
- An international credential evaluation report that includes a course-by-course analysis indicating the type of degree received, the U.S. equivalency of the degree, the graduation date, and a cumulative grade point average from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
The Evaluation Company is an international transcript evaluation service that has created a custom application for CUNY School of Professional Studies. By selecting The Evaluation Company, they will assist you in selecting the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate. You can access their application here: The Evaluation Company Application - CUNY School of Professional Studies
International Education Evaluators (IEE) offers a custom landing page with benefits for CUNY School of Professional Studies applicants. To learn more, visit: International Education Evaluators (IEE) - CUNY School of Professional Studies.
We recommend that documents are submitted to the evaluation service 8-10 weeks ahead of the application deadline to allow for the additional time needed to verify foreign credentials.
Electronic transcripts can be submitted directly from a postsecondary institution or by a company contracted by the institution via a secured system to Office of Admissions. Electronic transcripts will not be accepted as official if they are emailed from the student.
