Clinical Psychology Externship

Application Details:

• Open to students pursuing their PhD, PsyD or EdD in clinical or counseling psychology
• Late-August 2025 – May 2026, with possibility to continue in June/July
• Applications accepted through the NYNJADOT – APA portal
• Please see attached NYNJADOT Guidelines for 2025-2026 training year application dates (application cycle January – March 2025)

Training snapshot:

• Hybrid in-person/remote schedule
• 16 hours weekly
• Thursdays required in-person day
• 2 hours of individual supervision per week
• 1 hour of group supervision/team meeting per week
• 1.5 hours of didactics/case conference per week
• Very occasional evening hours may be required for psychoeducational outreach activities
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to initial consultation, crisis intervention, short-term psychotherapy, outreach and psychoeducational events, and therapeutic case management
