CUNY School of Professional Studies Ranks in Top 15% of U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs
The CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) is excited to announce that it has been ranked in the top 15% of U.S. News & World Report’s list of the 2015 Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs. Of the 214 institutions listed, CUNY SPS ranks 3rd in New York State and 27th in the nation. The School was also recognized this year as the most affordable online college in New York State for the second consecutive year by Affordable Colleges Online.
U.S. News & World Report assessed Schools based on four criteria, including student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology.
“This is wonderful news for CUNY SPS,” said John Mogulescu, Dean of the School and Senior University Dean for Academic Affairs. “Given that CUNY SPS did not open its first online degree program until 2006 and did not have its first degree granted until 2008, the ranking is an affirmation of the academic quality of our online programs and a testimony to the hard work of our faculty and staff.”
The CUNY School of Professional Studies originated the first fully accredited online degree program at The City University of New York (CUNY). Founded in 2003, CUNY SPS was developed to meet the educational needs of working adults, organizations, and employers. CUNY SPS is the first CUNY School to feature entirely online undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
